Question by cheee: How to reinforce a shell for a necklace?
I’m looking to make a necklace out of a nickel sized scallop looking shell. The problem is, I don’t know how. I want to attach it to something that can attach to a chain (I don’t want to drill a hole through the shell), but I don’t know how to do that. And I want to reinforce the shell somehow so it doesn’t break.

You can use super glue to attach a small loop to the shell. Use several coats of clear nail polish to strengthen and retain the color of it. I use clear nail polish to keep the colors on my engraved glassware. http://www.sallyhansen.com/product.cfm?product=233
